Afternoon at the Park

This afternoon we brought Hero and Hannah for a playdate at the park. Hannah loved the swings!
She wasn't so sure about the sprinklers, but she was willing to give them a try :)

Hero was a little traumatized by all the kids and unpredictable water shooting up from the ground - she preferred hanging out in the grass by "her" baby :)

The girls had fun laying out in the sun - Hannah was a little more covered up then she would have liked and kept trying to take off her hat and cover-up, but we do what we can to protect her soft baby skin!

Hiking at Mount Baker

This afternoon we took Hannah and Hero for a short hike at Mount Baker. Hero loved rolling around in the snow (as usual), and Hannah had fun trying to make her very first snowball :)

Playtime with the Puppy

Lately when Hannah is playing on the floor, she has been trying to reach for the animals when they get within about 5 feet of her - - unfortunately for them she moves slowly enough that they don't always think she can get to them :) But she usually does. Last night was Hero's turn to play. Hannah would reach for her, and Hero happily scooted up to be within reach - until she realized that Hannah grabs rather than pets.

Hero is a rather forgiving puppy - she loves to give Hannah kisses no matter how many times her ears get pulled.

Matt was trying to get a picture of Hannah on her tummy, but she had other ideas - like rolling back and forth so he couldn't get a clear shot :) It's almost like she's saying "catch me if you can, Daddy!"

Body Art

Painting went so well last week that we thought we'd try it again - this time, Hannah was more interested in painting herself, and none too happy with me when I said it was bath time!

I'm the Apple of Daddy's Eye!

Here are a couple of pictures from Father's Day. Hannah gave Matt a stepping stone for the garden that says "I Love Daddy" that she "made" :)

Painting is Fun!

Hannah tried out finger painting this afternoon and LOVED it! She dove right in and squished it around in her fingers before she created some beautiful art :) I was concerned that she would spend the whole time trying to eat the paint, but her fingers never left her "easel". I think she might have some of her Aunt Kari's passion for art :)

After creating these fabulous masterpeices it was time for a bath!

"I wanna be a big girl!"

After Lib and Brad left we decided it was time for a change - - Hannah hasn't completely outgrown her infant carrier, but she's getting too heavy for me to lug her around in it anymore. Her new seat won't be as convenient for running errands, but it had to happen eventually!

She also got her first taste of cereal - wow, did she chow down on it!! She really was ready for food, that's for sure :)

Just when we thought she couldn't grow up any more in one weekend, she decided that just laying in her bouncer was no fun - sitting up and reaching over the sides would be much more entertaining!

At the end of the weekend, we were all beat! I was too tired to put Hannah in her crib, and Jule decided to join us for a late night snooze in the glider. But after all the "growing up" she did this weekend, I was happy to have some snuggle time with my sweet baby girl!

Friends

Our good friends Lib and Brad stopped by for a visit this weekend before taking Brad's sister backpacking through the Olympics. Hannah loved seeing her Godparents again - extra people means extra attention, right!

5 Months Old

Check out Hannah's 5 month pictures :) If you look close, you can see her new teeth!

MINE!!!!!

So yesterday we went to the play area at the mall to meet some friends, and Hannah showed all of us just how much she loved her crinkley butterfly toy. She was sitting on Stephanie's lap and Terrace was sitting on my lap - Terrace saw the butterfly and started playing with it ( I guess she thinks it's pretty cool, too). Hannah took one look at Terrace playing with HER toy, pouted for a second, and then started screaming. That's right, I have the child who doesn't want to share her toys - go me!

Lounging around

Hannah had fun turning her saucer into a lounge chair the other day! It didn't look very comfortable to me, but try telling her that :)

Keeping Cool

It's been so warm here that we decided to break out Hero's pool - last summer she had to be dragged into it, but today she splashed around and had fun trying to "catch" the fish painted on the bottom :)

Squealing with Delight

Hannah has been talking up a storm lately :) She gets especially excited about her current favorite toy - a crinkly butterfly she loves to chew on!
