Family Vacation

We finally did it - - We went on a vacation that didn't include visiting Minnesota! Instead, we drove to Yellowstone and made a pit stop in Montana to visit our friends Lib and Brad :) We left on Saturday night around Hannah's bedtime hoping that she would sleep in the car, which actually worked pretty well. Our first stop was in Big Sky, Montana at the condo that Lib's family was kind enough to let us use for our trip. After resting up for a day, it was on to explore Yellowstone. There was no shortage of animals roaming the park, and I'm pretty sure we saw the same heard of elk, in the same spot, about 4 times in 2 days :) We spent one night at a hotel during our trip, and Hannah had a blast playing in the pool! After our second day exploring the park, it was back to Big Sky for a night and then on to Great Falls. We had a great time staying with Lib and Brad for a couple of days before it was time to make the drive back home. Our trip was a blast, but I think we were all ready to get home and sleep in our own beds :)

The day before we left, Hannah and Mommy took a relaxing nap together. Once we got on the road, Hannah made the most of her makeshift bed.

Hannah checking out the condo before conquering the world of bison!

Hannah had fun exploring Yellowstone. . . .

Animals everywhere!

The pool was so much fun! But staying up late to play has its pitfalls - like sleeping through a walk around the springs.

She woke up in time for the lo-o-o-o-ong walk down the mountain to see the lower falls - luckily Daddy carried her most of the way down and back up :)
Waiting for Old Faithful - Hannah kept herself and the people around us entertained by playing with her new stuffed bison.

Hannah got her very first piano lesson from Lib.
She also played a rousing game of peekaboo with herself in the mirror, and snuggled with brad on the couch.

It amazes me how much personality is coming out already - just look at how she told us she didn't appreciate the lunch we made her! :)

8 Months Old!

It's true - she's 8 months old and working on FOUR new teeth (poor girl!!). She's had her two bottom teeth for a couple of months, and now she's getting some on top. Number 3 popped through a couple of days ago with number 4 right behind it - that one's not in all the way, but it's close. And to make it worse, the teeth on either side of those are pushing through, too! I give her a lot of credit, she doesn't complain much considering what's going on - I just hope for her sake that they come through fast!

A Busy Week!

My Mom and Grandma came to visit us this week, and we had SO much fun! They couldn't believe how busy Hannah is these days - Grandma Donna calls her the "perpetual motion machine" :) They arrived on Monday afternoon and spent the first day playing with Hannah and watching go, go, go. Wednesday was a big day - We all drove to Vancouver to visit the aquarium for the afternoon, and then had dinner in White Rock. The aqaurium was a hit with all of us - while we were there we were able to see the sharks being fed, a beluga whale show, and a dolphin show! The rest of our days were a little less action packed, with a walk around Fairhaven and some shopping in Lynden. But we couldn't let them leave without a visit to Mount Baker to see Artist Point. We were so glad to have them visit!! Hannah loved spending time with Grandma and Great-Grandma :)

Before our visitors arrived, Hannah had to say farewell to the kitties for the week - Grandma Donna is REALLY scared of cats, so they stayed in their room while she was here.

Hannah stopped moving long enough for a couple of pictures to be taken - kind of :)

Exploring the high seas in her new boat :)
And checking out the bottom of the ocean with Grandma.
Hannah was enthralled with the jellyfish!
