Easter Fun

Hannah had some friends over yesterday for a little Easter fun - they decorated cookies, hunted for eggs, and played with the paper from the Easter baskets!

All of the kids worked hard to make their cookies deliciously beautiful :) Actually - most of them seemed more interested in eating the decorations than putting them on cookies!
Hannah licked all the frosting off of her cookie and then ate the decorations off her tray before she bothered with the cookie itself :) Yum - sugar!
Hunting for Easter eggs.
Hannah picked up a few eggs of her own, but then took to pilfering eggs from the other kids' bags!
Paper, paper everywhere!! Who knew that shredded paper could be so much fun? They raked it, shoveled it, and took it for a ride in the wagon :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!! Today has been a busy day for Hannah. She started by looking for her Easter basket, which she found hidden under the desk (that sneaky bunny didn't know she likes to play under there, so she found it pretty quick). Matt helped her look through her basket while I got breakfast ready, and she loved everything she pulled out :) Then it was time for church, and her very first Egg Hunt. It took Hannah a little while to figure out that she could keep the eggs - she kept trying to put them back where she found them! But once she got going, she had so much fun collecting eggs to put into her little bag :) After church she made herself comfortable by the alter (her favorite place to be) and explored some flower baskets that were up there. Overall it has been a great day :) Hannah has a couple of Easter-themed playdates coming up this week, so I will make sure to post more pictures soon :)

"I found my basket!!"

This crinkly paper is clearly more fun than anything the Easter Bunny could have left. . .
Daddy told Hannah that her new movie was "a book that you don't have to read" - but all she heard was "book" :) So after a carfeul (or not so.....) examination of her other goodies, she took her "book" and ran!
Ready for church!
"No time for pictures, Mom, I've got to find more eggs!" Eatting a snack by the alter - - Hannah thinks she owns the church, and she loves visiting Pastor Phil while he's leading the service :)
Checking out the flower arrangement.I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

Pigtails and Personality

This past week has not been nearly as sunny as we would like, but Hannah's smile is always sunny! :) Since we've been spending less time outside, and our inside play has been limited by painting projects (which are now officially, temporarily done), Mommy and Hannah have had to get creative about playtime. It seems that Hannah is a girly girl - she's always up for playing with Mommy's hair (sorry - no pictures of THAT 'do) and she'll sit still long enough for me to play with her hair, too!

Our sweet girl has taken to sitting on our laps while flipping through her favorite books (usually faster than we can read them). She loves finding things on the ground and giving them to us (we can't always see what she's found . . . . ). You only have to START saying "here comes a little mouse" before she runs away giggling (only to stop and look back in time for you to tickle her). And then there's the stairs, which she would spend all day going up and down if we would only let her. It's crazy how fast our baby has turned into a little person with a BIG personality!

Hannah has started letting me put pigtails in her hair AND she's been keeping them in :)

Swimming Lessons

Hannah started her swimming lessons this week - the first day was rough (it had been awhile since she had been in the pool, and she didn't like it!!). It took most of the first lesson for her to show a smile and start splashing in the water. But today's lesson was fun! She couldn't wait to get into the water and was happy right from the start of the lesson :) She floated on her back and tummy, kicked her legs, blew bubbles in the water, and jumped from the side of the pool - what a champ!

Hannah couldn't wait to get in the water!
Listening to the instructor to find out what was next. Jumping in! (I know it's hard to tell, but Hannah is grinning from ear to ear and shrieking in delight)

Hi Daddy!
She made her way over to the edge as soon as she saw Daddy waiting for her at the end of her lesson and tried to climb out to give him a big wet hug! When she realized that the step was too big where she was, she walked along the edge until it was just the right size :)

Enjoying the Sunny Weather!

We have had so much fun playing outside the last couple of weeks! It has been bright and sunny - just right for going on walks, playing at the park, and chasing the puppy :)

Hannah made a new friend at the park....

....And had fun chasing her old friend - Hero.
All ready to go for a walk!
She loves her outside toys so much that she brought these balls on a walking tour of our block :)
"Look, Mom, I can walk the puppy all by myself!"
And she's off . . . . . . Hannah gets so-o-o excited on our walks!
